False start costs SpVgg the semifinals

Even if Maximilian Geiger falls here and Hannes Inninger (2nd from left) can no longer stop the Schongau attacker, Altenerding left the field as a 1-0 winner against the later semi-finalists.

SpVgg Altenerding's U17 footballers showed a strong performance at the "Hall District Final Dahoam" and underlined that they can definitely play a role in the concert of the big ones.
Altenerding - Ultimately, however, a point was missing for the semi-finals, although the end in the preliminary rounds was quite avoidable.
Altenerding started the tournament with a bitter 1-0 defeat against SC Fürstenfeldbruck, and as the competition progressed it would become clear that this defeat was of crucial importance.
For a long time it looked like a goalless draw could be wrested from the favored Bruckers, but 14 seconds before the end SC scored the winning goal.
This goal then influenced the outcome of Group A significantly, because, as it later turned out, Altenerding would have been in the semi-finals instead of TSV Schongau in the event of a draw.
In the second game against SE Freising, however, the hosts brought the first points to their credit side.
At first, SpVgg did a little too little and were lucky not to fall behind when Sabbona Kder hit the post in Freising.
But this goal was like a wake-up call for the Aldinger/Krause team, because they then became more active - and were rewarded with Maximilian Geiger's opening goal.
The SEF then pushed for an equalizer, but the Altenerdinger defense didn't allow much.
Shortly before the end it was Gentian Hote's responsibility to make the decision, so that Altenerding still had a good chance of being in the race at that point.
But in the subsequent comparison against the state league team SV Planegg-Krailling, the semi-finals were a long way off after an unfortunate 1-0 defeat.
The goal against was annoying, because the defense was inattentive to a kick-in, so that an SVP attacker had too much space in front of the goal and steered the ball into the net from a short distance for the decisive goal.
In the final phase, goalkeeper Gabriel Schönfelder was ordered to go on the offensive, but this move did not bring any countable success.
This meant that the violets were dependent on outside help in the fight for a place in the semifinals.
However, there was no support, because in the next match TSV Schongau beat SE Freising 3:1, and as a result the district classist was four points ahead and SpVgg could no longer catch them.
Altenerding's coach Florian Aldinger struggled with the course.
"Overall I'm very happy with the performance of my boys and before the tournament I would have signed for third place in the group, but when you fall so close it's annoying."
But despite everything, the hosts showed a very good attitude in the final game against TSV Schongau and gave the semi-finalists, who were already certain, nothing.
In this match, the violets had the better end for themselves, and 90 seconds before the end, Nick-Luis Polsfuss scored the 1-0 winner, so that the purple-whites said goodbye to the championship.
FC Deisenhofen won the title after beating DJK Ingolstadt 2-1 in the final.
Both clubs will represent the district of Upper Bavaria in the Bavarian indoor finals, which will take place in Deggendorf on Saturday, January 28th.
