Liverpool FC is in crisis.

The 0: 3 at Brighton & Hove Albion was a "low point", as coach Jürgen Klopp had to admit.

Brighton and Hove - Ninth, 16 points adrift of the leaders, led by the surprise team: Liverpool FC are in deep trouble.

The coach was stunned after the nightmare evening – and did not spare criticism, even towards himself.

Klopp described the performance as "really bad", saying among other things: "I can't remember a worse game, not just with Liverpool.

This is really a low point.

Brighton were the better team, that was deserved.

They played really well.

It was a very organized team against a not very organized team.”

Solly March (46th/53rd minute) and Danny Wellbeck (81st) gave Brighton the home win with their goals.

The Seagulls, who are continuing their strong season under new coach Roberto de Zerbi after the departure of coach Graham Potter to Chelsea FC, overtook the Reds with the win and improved to seventh place in the Premier League table.

Former Ingolstadt player Pascal Groß played through once more, but this time he was unable to score a goal.

The central midfielder has already scored six times this season and prepared three more goals.

Most recently, however, he was used again and again as a right-back.

Same against Liverpool.

Also taking part was Argentinian world champion Alexis Mac Allister.

As usual, the high-flyer placed in the midfield and finished after 83 minutes.

The 24-year-old is just one of the many reasons why things are going so well for the port city-dwellers at the moment: Lots of ball possession, high speed, robust duels - Brighton simply bought the guts from Liverpool and played like the Reds themselves had done for many years to have.

Klopp also recognized this and congratulated the opponent fairly on a well-deserved victory after the game.

In fact, this season Liverpool have scored fewer goals, conceded more goals and collected fewer points than at the same point in previous seasons under Klopp, who has been in charge since October 2015.

Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp apologized to fans who had traveled to Brighton for his side's poor performance.

Jürgen Klopp: "What we made of it was bad"

Even Klopp didn't want to use the excuse that top stars like Virgil van Dijk, Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and other players were injured.

"Yes, we have injury problems and all that, but listen: The team we put together today wasn't bad at all - really not," said Klopp.
