The entry into the main round was already certain before the start, the result in the last World Cup group game against Algeria was secondary.

Nevertheless, the DHB selection also won this duel sovereignly, 37:21 (16:9) it was said at the end in Katowice, Poland.

The best pitcher was Jannik Kohlbacher, who was not part of the regular formation in the previous tournament.

He gets ten hits in ten throws.

For the DHB selection, the World Cup is now continuing in the main round.

Thanks to the victories against Serbia and Qatar, who are also in the main round, the German team takes the optimal haul of four points into the next round.

The first game is on Thursday against Argentina.

Other opponents are the Netherlands and one of the top favorites with Norway.

If the DHB team is at least second in its main round group, it continues in the quarter-finals.

In the game against the outsiders from Algeria, the DHB selection had few problems from the start and was always in the lead.

Some players from the second row got more time than last and were allowed to offer themselves.

National coach Alfreð Gíslason recently criticized that second suit, against Algeria, who were completely overwhelmed, he solved his problem confidently.

Circle runner Kohlbacher, who is one of Gíslason's noble jokers, was able to draw attention to himself with many strong actions.

Likewise Rune Dahmke, who scored four hits.

One player who had recently impressed with his passes and shots once again excelled in the first half: playmaker Juri Knorr.

At the break it was 16:9, the 22-year-old Knorr had contributed four goals.

After changing sides, he stayed out.

Regulars like Lukas Mertens or Kai Häfner were completely rested.

At the last World Cup 2021 in Egypt, the German team did historically poorly with twelfth place.

At this year's finals in Poland and Sweden, the DHB selection has so far been much more sovereign, especially the attacking game has developed enormously compared to previous tournaments.

However, Sweden, Denmark and France are the top favorites for the title.
