Rugby: Cameron Woki package for the Six Nations Tournament, a blow for the XV of France

The list of Fabien Galthié has not yet fallen but the name of Cameron Woki will not be there.

While the coach of the XV of France must reveal this Tuesday the group of 42 players called up to defend the title of the Blues in the Six Nations Tournament, he will not be able to count on the second or third line of Racing 92, package due to an injury to the scaphoid, a wrist bone.

The absence of Woki is a blow, while the number 4 had become indisputable among the Blues for over a year.

Holder eight times in the France team in 2022, the 24-year-old has played 11 Top 14 games this season with Racing.

He was injured in the Champions Cup this weekend, during the Racingmen's victory against Harlequins (30-29).

According to Rugbyrama, he should be out for at least seven weeks and could undergo surgery.

In his absence, the Toulousain Thibaud Flament seems favorite to endorse the number 4 in the second row alongside the Montpellier Paul Willemse.

In addition to Woki, centers Arthur Vincent (Montpellier) and Jonathan Danty (La Rochelle), prop Jean-Baptiste Gros (Toulon), hookers Peato Mauvaka (Toulouse) and Pierre Bourgarit (La Rochelle), second lines Killian Geraci (Lyon ) and Florian Verhaeghe (Montpellier) are also injured.

The players available and summoned by Galthié will meet in Capbreton (Landes) from Sunday before going to Rome, to launch their Tournament against Italy on February 5.

Antoine Dupont's teammates will then go to Ireland (February 11) and England (March 11), they will also host Scotland (February 26) and Wales (March 18).
