The SE Freising U19s are strong at the Bavarian.

The yellow-blacks are still annoyed that a point is missing for the semi-finals.

Traunstein/Freising – Although the SE Freising U19 juniors showed a very good performance at the Upper Bavarian Indoor Championships in Traunstein, there were disappointed faces after the last game, because the youngsters coached by Sebastian Thalhammer missed the semi-finals by a hair's breadth.

The coach saw the competition with mixed feelings: “We went into the tournament with the aim of reaching the semi-finals.

In the end it was unfortunately not enough for one point.

Of course, pride in the lads prevails, who have shown consistently good performances in five games with three wins and two narrow defeats against higher-class teams.”

In the first match against the host SB Chiemgau Traunstein you were the game-determining team.

A goal by Sven Jannik Richter shortly before the end of the game ensured the enormously important opening success and increased self-confidence.

In the second match, the task became much more demanding, because the opponents were the state league team SV Planegg-Krailling.

However, the Freisingers held up very well against the favorites.

This time, however, the only goal of the game came on the wrong side from the SEF point of view.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

SE Freising fulfills its duty for the semi-finals - but there is no support

The duel with DFI Bad Aibling was significantly richer in goals.

First, the Freisingers went in front through Edward Johnson.

However, the DFI fought back and was able to outsmart Freising goalkeeper Matea Kostic twice.

However, the yellow-blacks showed a great performance - and goals from Johannes Grubmüller and Andrej Valdivia ensured the acclaimed 3:2 win, which kept the Thalhammer protégés in the fight for the semi-final places in the race.

In the end the game got hectic: First, Freising's Marcos Hones flew down with yellow-red, and shortly before the end ex-Echinger Marzuk Shaban, who had joined Bad Aibling in the winter, allowed himself to be carried away and saw a straight red. With this victory, the Freisingers had worked out a match point for the semi-finals,

but you could not use it in the match against TuS Geretsried.

After an early deficit, the Domstadters threw everything forward and conceded the final knock-out.

But the SEF wasn't out of the race yet: a win against Murnau was needed, and the competition also needed support.

The former was achieved through a goal by Johannes Grubmüller.

However, Bad Aibling then overtook the SEF by beating Planegg-Krailling.

Then the TuS Geretsried pushed the Freisinger even to fourth place.

Türkgücü Munich won the tournament, beating TSV 1860 Rosenheim 2-1 in the final and will travel to the Bavarians in Essenbach next week.
