As a reminder, Maccabi Tel Aviv backed up its fans when it released a statement that read: "The photos and testimonies that are flowing to us from the many fans who left Teddy Stadium are very serious.
A large crowd of Maccabi Tel Aviv came to the game and it is impossible for him to leave when he suffers such violence from police officers when the reason does not seem justified."
The police responded: "Unfortunately, various parties try to legitimize the dangerous and violent behavior of a small part of the fans, which first and foremost harms a large public of fans. The Israel Police will continue to act resolutely against violence on the fields and against those who come to the sports fields with the aim of turning them into a battleground, disrupting the order and thus harming in the sports experiences of the fans."
