The traditional judo festival for 2023 will be held starting tomorrow (Wednesday) at the Ace Mall in front of Eilat, during which the Israel Championship for female and male graduates will be held for the first time.
The tradition of the festival began in 2015, since 7 years have passed in which the Judo Association brought a judo celebration to the southern city in cooperation with the Eilat Municipality, the management of the Ice Mall mall and the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
During all the days of the festival, besides the various competitions, there will also be educational workshops of a variety of judo for all the athletes, in a special huge tent that will be set up in the complex, from katas to a variety of combat exercises and different situations.
The main event of this year's festival will be, as mentioned, the Israel Championship for seniors, in which a record number of athletes from all over the country and the best senior athletes ranked in the top ten in the world will participate.
Among the prominent names among the women, it will be possible to watch Shira Shrinshi (up to 48 kg), Tamar Malka, Gefen Primo (up to 52 kg), Timna Nelson Levy (up to 57 kg), Gili Shirir, Kerem Primo and Inbal Shemesh (up to 63 kg), in the category up to 78 kg we can see Inbar Lanir. The list of top female athletes will be closed by Raz Hershko, who is ranked second in the world at a weight over 78 kg.
Among the men weighing 60 kg we will see Yonatan Wechsler, at 66 kg Yam Volchek, Matan Koclavev, Amir Dante and Ariel Shulman will compete. At 73 kg the most prominent are Oron Giner and Yonatan Elbaz, weighing up to 81 kg Tohr Botball, in the up to 90 kg category, Nadav Zhort and Uri Bartel.
Up to 100 kg Lee Kochman, and over 100 kg Peter Palchik, and Serafim Company.
