"Ashamed on the part of OL" ... Megan Rapinoe criticizes the management of Gunnarsdottir's pregnancy

Megan Rapinoe is one of the most committed footballers in the world of sport and the American did not spare her former employer.

The world champion reacted to the column written by Sara Bjork Gunnarsdottir, in which the Icelandic accuses Olympique Lyonnais of not having paid her her full salary during her pregnancy and of not having reinstated her in good conditions upon leaving maternity leave.

Very involved in the fight for equal pay between players, the American played in the Rhône in 2013 and currently plays under the colors of OL Reign, a club based in Seattle and owned by OL Groupe, the Jean-Michel Aulas.

Faced with Gunnarsdottir's accusations, Lyon responded by arguing that French law prohibited them from offering him other work during his sick leave and maternity leave.

"Olympique Lyonnais has always been a forerunner in women's football and supporting athletes at all times of their lives," OL said in a statement.

In this case, Gunnarsdottir implicated Vincent Ponsot, general manager of football in Lyon, but also coach Sonia Bompastor.
