For the second day in a row, the activities of the Arab Weightlifting Championship continue on the grounds of Al-Jalaa Sports Hall in Damascus, amid strong competitions and a high-spirited atmosphere.
The results of the second day in the junior category resulted in Saif Ali from Iraq winning the first place with a weight of 55 kg with three golds, followed by the Egyptian Iyad Muhammad second with three silvers, then the Syrian Ali Al-Hassan with three bronzes.
For the weight of 61 kg, the Iraqi Muhammad Abbas Mazloum won the first place with three golds, and the Egyptian Abdul Rahman Muhammad came second with three silvers, and the Syrian Ali Ghanem with three bronzes.
Ahmed Shujaa came first with a weight of 81 kg, and the Iraqi Hafez Al-Muhammad came first with a weight of 89 kg, and the Syrian Haider Suleiman came second, and the Lebanese Muhammad Zaytoun came third.
As for the youth category, the results of the weight of 55 kg resulted in the Iraqi Saif Ali winning the first place with three golds, leaving the second place for the Egyptian Iyad Muhammad with three silvers, the Yemeni Basil Abdullah Anbar with three bronzes, while the 61 kg competitions ended with the Iraqi Muhammad Abbas Mazloum winning first with three golds, The Egyptian Abd al-Rahman Muhammad came second with three silver medals, then the Lebanese Muhammad Tarha with three bronze medals, and the Syrian Muhammad Mujallaj won the lead in the weight of 81 kg, and his colleague Ahmed Shuja came in the runner-up, and the Iraqi Kamil Ziyad Muhammad came third.
In the men's category, the Iraqi Ali Ahmed Abdullah Ali won the first place in the weight of 55 kg with three golds, and his compatriot Saif Hussein Ali came in the second place with three silvers, then the Egyptian Iyad Muhammad with three bronzes, and the Egyptian Abdul Rahman Muhammad won the first place
In the 61 kg competitions, he was followed by the Lebanese Muhammad Tarha, then the Palestinian Karam Ali. As for the 81 kg competitions, the Syrian Muhammad Mujalaj went to the top, and the Iraqi Muhammad Hammad ranked first, and the third place went to the Syrian Rafiq Al Sheikh.
The President of the International Weightlifting Federation, Muhammad Hassan Jalloud, honored the Syrian weightlifter, Maan Asaad, for his distinguished results in international championships, most notably the bronze in the Tokyo Olympics, noting that the latter will compete in this championship tomorrow.
