The BBC has apologized for hearing a woman moaning during a live TV broadcast.
The incident happened on Tuesday evening shortly before the start of the FA Cup duel between Liverpool and Wolverhampton.
Ex-pro footballer and presenter Gary Lineker was about to pose a question to colleague Alan Shearer, as shown in videos circulating around the internet - when suddenly the moaning was heard.
Lineker grinned and said, 'It's a bit noisy in the studio.
Someone is sending something to someone's phone, I think."
While the soccer game was playing, Lineker then tweeted a photo of an older model cell phone with adhesive strips and wrote: "Well we found this taped behind the scenes.
As for the sabotage, it was quite amusing.”
The BBC itself apparently found the incident less amusing. In a statement, it apologized for the incident.
A spokesman also announced an investigation.
The report, published on the BBC's website, said a prank player known on YouTube claimed responsibility for the action.
The man, who calls himself "Jarvo," tweeted that he was responsible.
He also released a video of what appeared to be him ringing the mobile phone in the TV studio inside Wolverhampton's Molineux Stadium to trigger the moaning noises.
The man's real name is Daniel Jarvis.
In October he was banned from all sporting events in England and Wales for two years.
He previously ran onto the pitch - and into England player Jonny Bairstow - during a cricket test match between England and India in September 2021.
Achso: The football match between Liverpool FC and the Wolves on Tuesday evening won the Reds coached by Jürgen Klopp 1-0.
