The BBC found itself in a major embarrassment yesterday (Tuesday) after the moaning sounds of a woman were heard during the live broadcast of the FA Cup match between Wolves and Liverpool, apparently through a mobile phone of one of the people in the studio that fell into a prank.
The noise interrupted former England striker Gary Lineker's pre-match coverage as the Mighty Reds climbed to the next level in the return leg against Wolves.
Lineker later tweeted a photo of a cell phone he said was "taped to the bottom of a table on set" inside the stadium and looked amused.
The BBC was rather less than satisfied with the situation, and issued a statement saying: "We apologize to all viewers who were harmed during tonight's live coverage."
The person he claims is responsible for the incident is "Jarvo", a controversial YouTuber who tweeted that he was behind the stunt, and posted a video in which he is seen making a phone call to play the embarrassing sounds.
Jarboe, whose real name is Daniel Jarvis, was banned in October from all sporting events in England and Wales for two years after running on the pitch during a cricket match between England and India in September 2021.
