A dramatic and significant move on the part of the judges' union.

Wow!

Sport has learned that for the past two weeks, the referees' union has been working to make a significant correction in regards to the conduct of the teams' benches during the games, mainly on the part of the coaches and staff members.

According to the information received, the referees' union is working with the regulations committee of the football association to change the number of yellow cards for which a coach will be removed from a game and will go to the stands.

So far, a coach has been removed from one game after accumulating five yellow cards to his duty, just like the number that leads to the removal of an active player, but voila!

Sport has learned that the intention is to change the disciplinary regulations and to state that after the third yellow card the coach accumulates, he will be removed from the game and will not be able to stand on the lines.

As far as the referees' union is concerned, the rationale behind this decision is that, unlike active players who accumulate yellow cards for offenses that are part of the game, a coach receives a yellow card only as a result of his unsportsmanlike conduct on the lines and one that undermines the authority of the referees.

Hence, you don't have to wait until a coach accumulates five yellow cards, but it is necessary to suspend him for one game already after accumulating three yellow cards.

In addition, the referees' union will also act against the conduct of the team members and team managers who sit on the bench.

The union wants to pass a regulation according to which for every five yellow cards accumulated by the team members sitting on the bench, and it doesn't matter which one, even then it will be the coach himself who will be removed.

What is behind this thought is the same regulation according to which a coach is penalized after his team is late to take the field for the third time, either at the start of the game or after the halftime break.

When it happens the third time, the penalty is directly applied to the coach on the grounds that he is primarily responsible for the players getting to the game on time.

Here too, the intention is to try to lead to thought and consideration on the part of the staff members who sometimes take it easy in their behavior.

The aforementioned move, which the referees' union and the new chairman Giora Inbar are working on, is a move that is already in the works. According to the procedures, first the proposal will have to pass the statutes committee of the football association and then it will be necessary to bring the changes and the new decision to a vote of the association's management for approval.

From the union 's point of view

The referees, they expect that the members of the new association's management under the incoming chairman Shino Zoertz, will support the changes out of faith and a desire to make the benches and the coaches much more relaxed, also because according to the referees union, the audience is often influenced by the behavior of the officials on the bench.
