Caroline Garcia won Thursday morning against Canadian Leylah Fernandez in the second round of the first Grand Slam of the season in Australia (7-6, 7-5).
A victory far from obvious against an opponent who had revealed herself to the eyes of the world by reaching the final of the US Open in September 2021.
Particularly jostled in the first set, Garcia got away with an exemplary end of the tie-break, when she was trailing 5 points to 2.
