Disaster in Iraq.
Two people were killed and dozens were injured near the stadium in Basra, where the final match of the Gulf Cup between the locals and Oman is scheduled to be held tonight.
About 12 hours before the start of the game, tens of thousands of people arrived in the stadium area, creating a great crowd and chaos, which eventually led to a disaster, when the security forces and the police are unable to put order in the place.
This is the first time that Iraq has hosted the tournament since 1979, when the game was held in Baghdad and now, in light of the situation, the game may be canceled.
Mahmoud Abdelwadh, a journalist from Al-Gazeera, wrote on the networks: "The Iraqi fans were very angry. Although the authorities kept saying how lucky we are to be hosting this special event, the city did not prepare properly."
