Four days before Petah Tikva's second derby of the season, Hapoel fans reached the fundraising goal set by the club last summer of 2,000,000 shekels, with the 1,151st member joining the fan association.
In doing so, they completed the largest fundraising in their history, with a monetary amount that is 900,000 shekels higher than the previous fundraising record.
Meanwhile, the club today (Thursday) launched a special promotion for the members of the association ahead of the derby, when each of the 1,151 members of the association received personal coupon codes for friends and family members, for discounted tickets for the game at a cost of 20 shekels instead of 50 shekels, the usual price at the box office.
In light of the large number of people expected to come to the game, it was decided that the team's fans will sit in the derby game in stands 10-14, when the expectation is that at least 5,000 Hapoel Petah Tikva fans will come to the game.
Hapoel will come to the game from third place in the table with 35 points, after beating Hapoel Adumim Ashdod 1:2 on Monday.
In terms of the players' roster, which has been suffering from quite a few injuries in recent times, the team hopes that defenders Dror Nir and Mattan Peleg will be able to return to training for the game, while Niv Berkovich and Bar Navi, who have been absent in recent weeks, may also return.
Hapoel Petah Tikva fans will hope to see their first victory in the derby in eight years, during which the team recorded four derby games without a win.
