After the premiere in Munich, the National Football League (NFL) is planning two games of the season in Germany in 2023.

As the NFL announced, the Kansas City Chiefs and the New England Patriots will make their Germany debuts.

Their opponents as well as dates and venues are to be published with the schedule for the coming season.

The American football league had previously announced that it would host NFL games in Munich and Frankfurt over the next four years.

The reason for the decision is construction work in the Aztec Stadium in Mexico City, where a game was originally supposed to take place.

The former German NFL professional Markus Kuhn welcomed the decision to award two games to Germany: "What all German football fans have known for a long time about how popular this sport is in our country at the moment has also reached the last managers of the NFL". , he told the broadcaster RTL / ntv.

The German market is "incredibly important" for the American league.

“That is underlined again with two games,” said the 36-year-old.

Last November, the first NFL game took place on German soil in the Munich Arena.

According to the North American professional football league, the game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Seattle Seahawks, with 5.8 million viewers on TV and on the Internet, was the highest-rated encounter abroad to date.

The seats in the stadium were sold out long beforehand.

For tickets to this year's games, fans must register in good time using the appropriate form.
