On January 21, 2019, Emiliano Sala lost his life in a tragic plane crash, on a flight between Nantes and Cardiff, the city that the Argentine striker was about to join in transfer.

Four years later, he has still not come out of memory: several players in French football, in particular his former clubs and Kylian Mbappé, have paid tribute to him.

On this special day, four years after her tragic death, the Club has a heartfelt thought for Emi, her family and loved ones.

On his social networks, the Frenchman posted a photo of Sala in the Nantes jersey, fingers to the sky, with the caption "4 years", accompanied by a dove emoji.

The Paris Saint-Germain star, who has never worn the same shirt as the Argentinian, had already made a nice gesture at the time of his disappearance, by paying 30,000 euros to a kitty launched by his family to revive the research of his body.

He had done the same for the pilot of the plane, David Ibbotson, the other missing from the accident.

A message from Cardiff

Sala's memory has also been hailed by several of his former clubs, including Nantes and Bordeaux.

"On this particular day, four years after his tragic disappearance, the Club has a moved thought for Emi, his family and his loved ones", we could read in particular on the social networks of the Girondins.

"Remembering Emiliano", was content to write Cardiff City FC, alongside a photo of the player.

For all time.

Cardiff's message didn't go down well with some supporters: the Welsh club long refused to pay the €17m transfer fee they owed Nantes over Sala, believing the player was not theirs still officially at the time of his death.

Sanctioned by FIFA and deprived of recruitment for three transfer windows, he finally paid 8 million euros for the first time to the Canaries in mid-January.
