Al-Shorta equestrian archery team qualified for the World Cup finals by finishing second in the qualifiers in Group B held in South Africa.
The police team came in second place after the Saudi team, and the Kuwaiti team came third. The three teams qualified for the upcoming finals for the second group, which also included South Africa, Jordan, Pakistan, Qatar, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Yemen and Palestine.
In a statement to SANA, the head of the Police Equestrian Club, Lieutenant Colonel Mahmoud Al-Masry, said: The competition was strong between more than forty male and female riders, and it lasted for three days on three horseback shooting tracks, which are the fast horse track, the multiple targets track, and the suspended dish track.
Al-Masry added: Our team was able to present advanced equestrian performance and won appreciation and admiration, pointing out that the World Cup finals will be held at the end of this year in a place to be determined later by the International Equestrian Federation after completing the qualifiers for the rest of the groups.
The police team was represented by the knight Ahmed Al-Masry, the knight Walid Khawajkia, and the knight Shorouq Al-Masry, led by the knight Lieutenant Colonel Mahmoud Al-Masry.
