The French women's relay, concluded by Julia Simon, won for the second time this season, in Antholz-Anterselva (Italy) on Sunday, for the last race before the Biathlon World Championships in Oberhof (Germany) in February.
The blue quartet, composed in the order of Lou Jeanmonnot, the Chevalier sisters, Anaïs and Chloé, and Simon, far outstripped Sweden of the Oeberg sisters, 45 seconds behind, and Germany, without Denise Herrmann-Wick, pushed back to more than 1 min 15 sec.
The Italy of Lisa Vittozzi and Dorothea Wierer finished at the foot of the podium.
The French women led the race from start to finish in the Italian mountains thanks to a very high performance on the firing line: they only used two pickaxe balls in total.
Simon and her teammates, already victorious in Hochfilzen (Austria) in December, will thus approach the Worlds in Germany (February 8-19) with two successes in three relays run since the start of the season.
