Union commits Croatian world championship driver Juranovic

Bundesliga club Union Berlin has made a record transfer for the fight for the European Cup places: The Irons signed the Croatian World Cup regular Josip Juranović from the Scottish champions Celtic Glasgow as a full-back.

At the World Cup in Qatar, Juranovic took third place with Croatia.

According to media reports, the transfer fee should be eight million euros plus bonuses.

It is the highest fee in the club's history.

“Josip will suit us well with his pace, experience and skills.

We are convinced that with him we can sign a player who can help us quickly and look forward to him," said sporting director Oliver Ruhnert.

Only on Tuesday did Union lose Norwegian full-back Julian Ryerson to league rivals Borussia Dortmund for five million euros.

HSV release Kittel for change

According to consistent media reports, HSV has given its attacking midfielder Sonny Kittel the go-ahead to move to another club.

Clubs from the United Arab Emirates, Australia, the USA and Poland are under discussion.

The 30-year-old was absent from the first session after the training camp in Spain.

Already in the summer, the so far goalless smock was about to move to the USA.

A new contract did not come about after all.

As was further reported, however, HSV Kittel only wants to let Kittel go for a fee and at the same time commit to an adequate replacement.

The second-placed team will start the second half of the season next Sunday with a home game against Eintracht Braunschweig.

Guilavogui wants to change, Wolfsburg says: "No"

A move from midfielder Joshua Guilavogui from VfL Wolfsburg to VfB Stuttgart hardly seems realistic, according to sports director Fabian Wohlgemuth.

“It stays the same, there is no release from VfL Wolfsburg,” said Wohlgemuth on Saturday after the 1-1 (1-1) in the Bundesliga between Swabia and FSV Mainz 05.

With one sentence, however, he still left a minimal possibility open: "We will only make transfers if we are convinced of it and the economic and sporting framework fits together."

Most recently, the "kicker" reported that Guilavogui should have deposited his change request.

The Frenchman's contract ends on June 30, 2023. However, VfL coach Niko Kovač is said to be unwilling to give up his player.

In the first competitive game of the calendar year, the 32-year-old did not play in the 6-0 win over SC Freiburg despite being in the squad.
