In the duel of the first against the third, Arsenal FC won 3: 2 (1: 1) against Manchester United on the 21st match day of the Premier League.
The dominant Gunners fell behind early on.
Marcus Rashford gave the guests the lead with a great long-range shot (17th minute).
Despite scoring 11:2 in the first half, Arsenal only managed to equalize through Eddie Nketiah (24').
In the second half, 21-year-old Bukayo Saka restored the lead with a superb long-range shot (53'), Arsenal keeper Aaron Ramsdale a few minutes later parrying a deflected shot from Rashford with a world-class save.
Just fantastic, then involved in the goal: Ramsdale failed to clear a cross well enough, Lissandro Martínez headed in to make it 2-2 (59').
Arsenal's Saka had a great chance of winning the goal – he hit the post in the 70th minute with a shot deflected off Christian Eriksen.
Arsenal's courageous action was rewarded shortly before the end: Nketiah maneuvered the ball over the line to score the winning goal in the 90th minute.
After the win, Arsenal remain first, five points clear of Manchester City.
United remain third.
With his fourth hat-trick of the season, Erling Haaland had put English champions Manchester City back on track a week after the derby defeat as the first pursuer of leaders Arsenal.
The ex-Dortmunder scored all three goals in the 3-0 (1-0) win against Wolverhampton Wanderers (40th/50th, penalty kick/54th), after 26 competitive games for the defending champion the Norwegian has already scored a total of 31 goals.
In the league alone there are now 25 in 19 games.
By comparison, Cristiano Ronaldo has only had three Premier League hat-tricks in seven years at Manchester United.
Jürgen Klopp's FC Liverpool and FC Chelsea had already separated 0-0 on Saturday.
