We haven't even begun to enjoy: about the expected departure of Oskar Gloch - voila! sport

All parties are expected to benefit, except for us - we barely had time to enjoy ourselves. And also: the attitude towards Parfa Giagon, the demand from the Jerusalem worker and more. David Rosenthal's column

Tikteknu: today's summary clip in Sport, 22.1 (Sport1)

The first instinct that jumped to mind with the news of the offer and the expected move of Oskar Gloch to Red Bull Salzburg was to find who and what was wrong - where was not proper conduct, who committed a hijacking, why exactly the Austrian team while Barcelona is interested, etc.

But you don't have to dig too much.

Maxim Gloch conducted himself with integrity with Maccabi Tel Aviv all the way, including the extension of the contract that allowed it to carry out the sale (which should be noted - it has not yet been carried out, there are still other teams in the picture).

The club put a price tag on the release, and even if it didn't believe it would happen so quickly, someone will be found to pay.

The same team that is supposed to get Gloch happens to be one of the best talent hotbeds in the world.

I mean, professionally, financially and morally, everyone here went by the book.

There is only one problem in this whole story: Gloch is going abroad too soon. No, not for him, for us. He is taking the right step. Not yet 19 years old, it is exactly the time for him to go out and flourish in the same place where Arling Holland took his first steps outside to Norway. The point is that we didn't really get to enjoy it. It's not just Maccabi Tel Aviv fans, but soccer fans in Israel in general. We saw Eyal Berkovic win a double and lead an unforgettable team to the championship, Haim Rabivo achieved less and was still a leading player in Maccabi's well-oiled machine Haifa Yossi Banyon also managed to produce unforgettable moments in green. All of them were polished diamonds that left a magnificent legacy here and made all football fans, not only those of Maccabi Haifa, realize that they were witnessing something special. We have been aware of Gloch's existence since April 2022. Not even a year has passed .

It is likely that in the nineties or even the early 2000s we would have seen Gloch in Bloomfield for another two or three years.

It is not certain that he would have marched Maccabi Tel Aviv to the championship, but he would certainly have become a leading team player (nowadays, as hard as it is to believe, he is on the standard of a rotation player).

This is the spirit of the current age - everything is accessible and happens faster.

As in real life, no one has the patience to wait.

Leaving too soon, for us.

Two years ago, at a similar stage of the season, Maccabi Tel Aviv arrived at a home game against Maccabi Haifa trailing by eight points.

She won from a penalty in the 95th minute and returned to the fight.

At this point, on the eve of the current matchup, it's hard to believe that the scenario will repeat itself, the team just doesn't look good enough for the championship.

It's hard not to wonder if in a situation where the run was real and not simulated, Gloch would have left by now.

Maccabi Tel Aviv is already thinking about the day after.

Is Hamudi Kanaan, as talented as he is, the player on whom the club needs to lay down a sizable chunk of Gloch's transfer fee?

Maybe, but it's an expensive gamble.

The spotlight now turns to the man who is already in the team and should be the main beneficiary of Gluch's departure, Parfa Giagon.

Like many good ones before him, Giagon at this point is something of an enigma.

In youth he shined, in Maccabi Netanya he showed that he has a future, even in Maccabi Tel Aviv itself he has already provided several reasons to believe in him.

And yet, he didn't show enough.

Now Giagon is reaching an important juncture in his career at the club and an important juncture of the club in relation to him.

If he gets a real chance, he will have to provide immediate results.

If he doesn't accept, the door to his departure will be wide open.

Giagon, not Canaan, is the real question right now in Maccabi Tel Aviv's attacking midfield.

Hapoel Jerusalem fans (Photo: Barney Ardov)

Hapoel Jerusalem had a dream first round, with a victory in the derby and a defeat inflicted on Maccabi Haifa, and in general - it looked like the refreshing change of the Premier League.

From the beginning it was clear that the numbers would even out and that the strong start would fade, but Ziv Aryeh's players returned from the World Cup break with an unwanted 180-degree turn, without a win in the six games that have passed since then, and in none of them did they score more than one goal.

Hapoel Jerusalem will not be relegated (yes - even from the top of fourth place it is allowed and necessary to talk about this possibility at this stage of the season, especially when the ability is so weak).

The rate of accumulation of points at the bottom indicates that 30 points will be enough to stay.

Last year, Maccabi Petach Tikva and Hapoel Nof HaGalil finished with 27 points.

Hapoel Jerusalem has 28.

Still, the Jerusalemites must be in the top playoffs to start positioning themselves as a legitimate Premier League team, not only in the eyes of the other teams, but also in the eyes of their fans.

Yesterday, 3,000 home fans came to a 3:00 p.m. game against a team that attracts a crowd regardless of its position in the table.

Nice, but not enough.

Hapoel Jerusalem has the potential to bring twice as much, but it will only come with results.

At the moment, when Beitar, Ashdod and Hapoel Haifa are narrowing the gaps, the escape of the top playoffs out of reach will only lead to the abandonment of the nucleus that already exists. A club that has come such a long way to the top of the Premier League cannot afford to miss the opportunity to increase the circle of support. Along the way, an offensive boost in the few days left until the end of the window can't hurt.

We can only hope that the scenario from 2016 will not repeat itself.

"I saw a neat, organized team that knows what it wants," said Haim Silves after the 0:0 draw on Saturday.

This sentence, which begins with "I saw a team" surely corresponds for many Hapoel Tel Aviv fans with "I saw a team of Guy Luzon" said by Eli Gutman in 2016.

Even then it happened after a draw, even then it was before a derby, which in that case ended with a resounding 5:0.

The game at Teddy ended in a draw, now we just have to hope in Hapoel Tel Aviv that the scenario of that defeat, like many that followed, will not repeat itself.

It's easy to despise Silves after this draw.

Hapoel Tel Aviv was weak as usual, struggled to score as usual and looked like a bottom team, here too - as usual.

It's just that Sylves understands that the end justifies the means at this point.

With or without American buyers, there is no time and place for beautiful football, you need the points.

Any result other than a loss in the derby is a bonus, but then Hapoel Tel Aviv has a streak of games against opponents directly to the bottom - Bnei Rayna, Hapoel Hadera and Kiryat Shmona.

There Sylves must also bring results with the organized football.

Hapoel Tel Aviv fans on the networks are impatient.

You can understand them.

As far as they are concerned, what will be will be, they have no faith in any management team and any training team, only they too must understand that there are no magic solutions.

Sylves got a certain material of actors.

If he is lucky, he will receive a significant addition like the one that arrived in the January 2021 window and turned the face of the team around.

Meanwhile, he got a goalkeeper who might not have been too busy, but kept a clean sheet.

Maybe this is the first swallow.
