At her peak, Jelena Dukic was one of the best tennis players in the world.
The Croatian-born Australian reached the semi-finals of Wimbledon in 2000, was ranked fourth in the world at her peak and has earned over $4.4 million over the years, but recently returned to the headlines under slightly less happy circumstances.
In recent days, Dukic has been serving as a commentator at the Australian Open.
Among other things, she interviewed Novak Djokovic after one of his matches - which led to countless insults she received on social media for her weight gain.

. The "star" of the Premier League threw the belongings of the "traitorous ex" out of the house, and revealed a strange detail.
"The body abuse I suffered in the last 24 hours is simply crazy," she wrote on her Instagram account, in response to a post in which one of the surfers called her a "whale".
"It's disgusting. People should be ashamed. The thing that repeats itself the most is, 'What happened to her? Why is she so big?'
I'll tell you what happened, I find ways to survive and fight, and it doesn't matter at all what I do and what happened, because the size shouldn't change. The weight might change , but the evil of the people will always remain the same evil."

Dukich, who retired in 2014, added and wrote: "I love all of you, even the trolls, because you give me so much motivation and inspiration to do what I do, and fight people like you. I want to fight on behalf of all the fat haters. I can't change the world, but I will continue to talk about the issue and use my platform to do good in the world."
The tennis community was quick to embrace the former player.
Serena Williams' former coach Patrick Mouratoglou wrote: "You're doing a great job, Jelena. Don't read these comments and don't take them seriously. Most people love them and admire you."

Last April, Dukic admitted that she dealt with depression and even considered suicide.
The psychological treatment she underwent, she said, saved her life, after a difficult childhood that included, among other things, physical and mental abuse by her father and former coach.
A few days ago, one of the surfers responded to her in Serbian and wrote: "Maybe Yelena will try to kill herself, like every year."
The former tennis player responded and wrote: "This is just a new low, just when we thought we couldn't sink to a lower low. Almost a million people commit suicide worldwide every year. It's scary and it's so sad that there are such repulsive people. They should be ashamed of themselves. What kind of person can write Such a thing to another person and laugh at it?"
