A championship fight that may be reopened or closed, a club record that is at stake, a diamond that closes a circle before parting ways and a captain who says goodbye to the club of his youth.
The meetings between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Maccabi Haifa will be interesting and full of quirkiness, but it is doubtful if one of them included as many stories as this season's game tonight (Monday, 8:30 p.m.) at Bloomfield Stadium.
On the yellow side, Aitor Karanka, in his third game in office, knows that if he doesn't beat Barak Becher, the championship dream may end very early for him.
The host arrives eight points behind the leader and is determined to start the fight again, or at least not to close when the gap becomes double digits.

On the green side, Bacher knows that his team's first victory over Maccabi Tel Aviv in Bloomfield since May 2011 will bring the champions closer to a third straight plate.
In addition, a celebration against the bitter rival will be the perfect way for Haifa to break the club's record with 12 consecutive league victories.
As a mirror image for Cranka, Bacher also came up with three brakes, but the big surprise came on the left wing, where Dean David was placed at the expense of the injured Pierre Cornot and Dolev Haziza who felt a muscle infection.
