Paralympic skier Sheina Vespi, today (Monday) opened her participation in the World Championships in Spain, when she finished in eighth place in the Super Giant Slalom competition.
The 21-year-old Vespi, who last year became the first Israeli athlete to take part in the Winter Games, waited a whole day before the championships started, due to strong winds that prevented the competition from taking place.
The surfer, supported by the club
Erez, achieved a result of 1:14.92 minutes which gave her the eighth place, while the gold medal was won by Sweden's Abe Aresjo with 1:00.91 minutes.
The Swede was 4.15 seconds ahead of the German Andrea Rotoshoff.
In the coming days, Vespi will continue her participation in the championship, with the Giant Slalom (25.1) and the Slalom (27.1) waiting for her later in the competition, if the weather allows it.
