As a climber, BC Attaching has had a strong first half of the season in the district league.

The satisfied coach Enes Mehmedovic is now attracting attention with two winter transfers.

Attaching – The BC Attaching has successfully completed the first part of the relegation mission.

However, the climber in eleventh place in the table will not rest.

"It starts again from zero," says Enes Mehmedovic, the coach of the district league promoted, before the start of the preparation.

The constellation with home games against the top teams and away games with the direct competitors is tricky.

The Attachingers don't have to hide because of new signing Mesut Toprak either.

They have proven in the course of the season so far that they have the quality for the district league north - despite adversities at the start.

BC Attaching overcomes vacation absenteeism and injury to defense chief Gurbeta

"Seven players will be on vacation in September.

We have to get through this phase well," Mehmedovic said before the start of the season - anything but ideal conditions.

The initial success in Günzlhofen was followed by setbacks - in terms of results and injuries.

On the third day of the game in Kammerberg, the BCA not only lost 2-1, but also their defense chief Mirnes Gurbeta.

The experienced central defender has been out since then, his team also lost the following six games and had only four points after nine games.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

The turning point was the 2:0 against the direct competitor and district rival Palzing.

Gradually, the players returned.

And when the squad was almost complete, the BCA went on a run: the team took 17 points from the last nine games before the winter break.

The reward: four points ahead of the relegation place.

"We weren't competitive at the beginning, but I'm very satisfied with the last six weeks," Mehmedovic looks back.

BC Attaching: Ex-SEF players Toprak and Mezini come from SV Dornach

The Attachinger have developed a good starting position in the race for relegation.

Added to this is the Toprak coup.

The 33-year-old midfielder made a name for himself at Eintracht Freising in the Landesliga Southeast.

After three years as assistant player coach at SC Freising, he returned to his youth club in winter to attack again in the district league.

"The young players can learn a lot from Mesut," says the happy coach, who is planning the new signing on the attacking flank.

Ali Mezini, the second newcomer, comes from SV Dornach but has been injured for a long time in the recent past.

The 22-year-old midfielder is now hoping for more appearances and match practice at the BCA.

“Ali played in the youth team at SEF and is well trained.

He can play in the center on the six, the eight or even in defense,” reports Mehmedovic.

With Jasko Hamzagic, the coach can no longer plan for it.

The summer newcomer left the club after half a year - where to is not yet certain.

The Attachingers are building on their team spirit in the latter part of the season.

Because, according to Mehmedovic, it's excellent: "There was never a bad mood." Not even in difficult phases like the first third of the season.

Mathias Staudigl played a big part in it.

"He creates a good atmosphere and pulls the boys along with his commitment," the coach praised his captain.

Like Manuel Thalhammer, Daniele Chezzi and Marvin Haug, he is one of the experienced players.

Although the quartet has broken the 30-year mark, it is one of the strongest running players in the team.

The fact that the players aren't offended or frustrated if they don't play from the start contributes to the good atmosphere in the dressing room.

Gurbeta could also be a factor.

Because if the defense boss should recover from his injury and be able to play again this season, the BCA will get back what feels like a top-level newcomer.

The chances of a successful mission to stay up would then be even greater for the promoted team.
