On video: World Cup championship celebrations in Argentina (Photo: Reuters)
When Zlatan Ibrahimovic speaks, it's usually direct and uninhibited.
This time the Swedish striker did so on the subject of the Argentina national team and its World Cup winning celebrations, which he called "disrespectful" during an interview with French radio published this morning (Wednesday).
As I remember, "Ibra" predicted before the final that the Albiceleste would lift the World Cup: "I said that Argentina would win for sure. If you want the World Cup in Qatar to be remembered forever, who should win? Messi. Not Mbappe, because Messi is considered the best player in history," Zlatan said in an interview.
"But I'm sorry for Mbappe, because if you score four goals in the final (including the penalty in the duel) and don't win the cup, it's very sad. But he's already won the World Cup and will win again, so I'm not worried about him."
"I'm worried for the rest of Argentina's players, because they won't win anything anymore," the Swede continued and provided another prediction.
"Messi won everything and he will be remembered, but the rest, who behaved badly, you can't respect that. I say this as a professional footballer at the highest level. For me, it's a sign that they won't win anything anymore, because that's not how you win."
Zlatan didn't like it.

It is likely that Ibrahimovic was referring to the antics of the Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, that at the ceremony where he was awarded the Golden Glove award he made a move that drew a lot of criticism, mocking Mbappe both in the dressing room celebrations after the game and in Buenos Aires.
