Tomorrow (Thursday) the Israeli championship in artistic swimming will open and will be held for two days at the national pool at the Wingate Institute.
Over 150 athletes from 12 associations will participate in the competition - admission is free.
The categories in which the girls will compete will be solo, duet, technical group and combo for girls and adults, compulsory exercises up to the age of 12 and young women.
In addition, viewers will be able to watch the Olympic duet of the new pair, Ariel Nashi and Shelly Bobritzky, who will present a new technical program built by super coach Anna Teres.
Israel will be the second country in the world, after Spain, to implement in a major competition the judging system that came into force in 2023. According to the system, the coaches will submit the difficulty level of each exercise in advance, in the competition there will be three technical supervisors who will check that what was declared is what was actually performed, and three more technical supervisors to check the coordination between the female athletes.
This method will create a great interest in the competition and a challenge for the teams who want to meet the level of difficulty they have stated.
Miki Halika, Chairman of the Swimming Association: "I am happy and excited to announce that in this championship there is a record number of participants, the branch of artistic swimming is growing and will continue to produce achievements at the international level."
