Mike Tyson got into a new complication.

The legendary former boxer is being sued by a woman who claims that Tyson (56) raped her in the early 1990s in a limousine after the two met at a nightclub called Septembers in Albany, New York.

The plaintiff, whose name has not been published, demands compensation of five million dollars from Tyson for "physical, psychological and mental damages", which she claims she has suffered in the years that have passed since the attack that allegedly took place.

Although the plaintiff did not specify the exact date when the alleged incident happened, she explained that she agreed to get into Tyson's limousine on the way to pick up a friend and go to a party.

According to her version, Tyson started kissing and touching her as soon as she got into the car.

"I told him 'no' and asked him several times to stop, but he continued to attack me. He pulled down my pants and brutally raped me," the woman stated, but did not specify if the driver was present in the limousine at the time.

The plaintiff also clarified that she refuses to be revealed because publication of her name would cause her further psychological damage and subject her to ridicule.

Mike Tyson was the world heavyweight champion between 1987 and 1990, and is considered one of the most prominent boxers of all time.

However, his personal life outside the ring is characterized by high-profile violent scandals and numerous run-ins with the law.

His first wife, actress Robin Givens who was married to him in the 1980s, stated in the divorce papers that their relationship was "fraught with outbursts of rage and violence" on the part of the fearsome boxer.

His second wife, Monica Turner, divorced him in 2002 after accusing him of infidelity.

But above all, Tyson was arrested in 1991 after being accused of raping an 18-year-old American beauty queen contestant named Desiree Washington.

Although he claimed that Washington had consensual sex with him, Tyson was convicted in court in 1992 and served less than three years in prison (although he was sentenced to six years in prison and four years on probation).

He returned to boxing upon his release from prison, and retired from the sport in 2005.

In an interview that year with the USA Today newspaper, Tyson said that "I've wasted my whole life, I'm a failure."

Last April, he got into a fight during a flight from San Francisco to Florida, when according to evidence he punched a man who poured water on him.

Tyson was not charged in this case.
