The trend of improvement continues: Avdia recorded his second double-double since the Hachimura trade and added 3 assists in 30 minutes, the Wizards erased a 19-point deficit and beat Houston 103:108

The numbers prove it: Danny Avdia has flourished since the trade that sent Roy Hachimura to the Lakers and Kendrick Nunn to the Wizards.

The Israeli forward finished tonight (between Wednesday and Thursday) with a second double-double in a row, and helped the improving Washington register a fourth consecutive victory, 103:108 over Houston.

The Wizards improved their record to 26:22, a distance of only one game from the 10th ranked Chicago leading into the play-in.

As mentioned, Avdia continued his improvement, when he finished 30 quality minutes with 10 points (4 of 13 from the field, 1 of 4 from three, 1 of 2 from the penalty), 10 rebounds, 3 assists, a steal and a block.

Without Hachimura on the roster, Avdia returned to receiving more minutes and responsibility, and is showing improved confidence that was also reflected in the number of shots he took tonight, despite an erratic offensive game.

Either way, the trend is clear: in four of the last five games in which Hachimura was absent in Washington, Avdia finished with a double-double.

Now that it's a permanent situation, perhaps Avdia's output will continue to rise.

More responsibility, more numbers.

Washington actually started the game on the left foot, and presented a weak defense.

Avdia was the bright spot of the first half, during which he scored all 10 of his points in the game, but the Rockets did their best on the court and opened a double-digit lead that peaked at 19 points.

Going into the break, Washington was still behind by 15 points, but an improved second half and especially a deadly last quarter in which they ran 22:37 and enjoyed less than 20 points from Kyle Kuzma, turned the bowl upside down and gave the guest a second consecutive victory in Texas, and fourth in a row in general .

The Rockets, on the other hand, were left with a single win in the last 15 games and dropped to a 37:11 balance.

Kyle Kuzma finished again as the leading scorer for the Wizards with 33 points, along with 9 rebounds.

Bradley Beal settled for 17 points and added 4 assists, and Kendrick Nunn who came from the Lakers finished a successful debut with 12 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists.

Houston can at least take solace in another impressive game from Elfren Shengon, who has been showing great ability lately and finished tonight with a triple double of 21 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists.
