Freising – After the defeat on the last matchday, the chances of the HSG Freising-Neufahrn handball team remaining in the state league dropped dramatically.
For the little spark of hope, a win against TV Gundelfingen is essential on Saturday at 2 p.m. (sports hall of the Luitpoldanlage).

Both teams are currently tied at the bottom of the table.
The HSG women proved that the opponent is beatable in the away duel - in Gundelfingen they celebrated the only win of the season so far.
Since then, the performance curve within the squad has definitely gone up a notch, emphasizes trainer Simon Klawe: “We now have a higher density.
The responsibility no longer rests solely with Anna Sophia Meyerhofer and Melanie Kapser.”

Francesca Volz, who shone with her throws from the game and also her strong nerves in the seven-metre throw, presented herself at least on an equal footing.

Only the Friday visit to the doctor will clarify whether she can be there against Gundelfingen.
Carolin Vopel recently trained again after her back problems - whether she can play will be decided after the final unit.
In terms of play, it now fits very well, emphasizes the coach.
The big shortcoming is the inexperience of the young players.
"In the end we got caught up in the hustle and played with overmotivation at times." It was a learning process that you didn't always have to comment on referee decisions in order to collect unnecessary time penalties afterwards.
Klawe therefore calls for more cleverness on the field.
Two points against Gundelfingen are a must, and the women should achieve the necessary goals with their fast play: "They should implement the first and second wave and always find the best positioned woman when attacking position," Klawe hopes.
