A basketball fan went through last night (between Tuesday and Wednesday) one of the biggest nightmares that can happen to a sports fan.
12-year-old Filipe, an Argentinian boy, was seen in the stands in Miami tonight holding a sign with a dedication to Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler: "Dear Jimmy, we traveled 4,405 miles to see you play. Can we get a picture or meet for coffee? :)" .
Felipe waved this sign before the game in the stands, and the cameras focused on him just as the announcer in the hall announced: Jimmy Butler is injured, and will not play tonight!
The footage showed Felipe receiving the news from his sister Zoe who was with him, and was left shocked, disappointed and heartbroken.
The fan was amazed to receive the news
But this story has a happy ending.
The people of Miami and Butler saw the posts on social networks about the case, and made sure to compensate the boy: the team gave him a ball signed by all the players and Butler's new Nike shoes.
Later she even took him down to the floor, and he took a picture with the team's player Gabe Vincent.
Butler responded to the post with the boy, writing "I worry about you."

This is of course not the first and not the last time that something like this happens, especially in recent years, when many athletes miss a lot of games due to injuries that are partly due to the load.
Kobe Bryant was asked in the past how he shows peak ability in every game, and answered: "I know there is someone in the crowd today who came especially and sees me for the first time" - but not all players have this attitude.
"This is the most wretched phenomenon in the NBA today," read the comments on the Butler affair, even before it was known about the gesture from the team, "Today's players are soft."
Just last week, Steve Kerr rested four of Golden State's five players, including Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green, and said before the game that precisely because of things like this he wants to shorten the season: "I feel terrible for the fans who bought tickets to be able to see someone play. It's the cruelest part of the business. That's why I keep pushing for a change to a 72-game season."
