Manuel Neuer's sporting future at Bayern Munich is uncertain after breaking his tibia and fibula.
However, the goalkeeper is financially secure.
Munich – It is not yet clear whether and when Manuel Neuer will be back on the pitch for Bayern Munich after his serious injury on a ski tour on the Roßkopf.
A return between the posts can be expected in the summer at the earliest, but the rehabilitation process may take even longer.
A veritable replacement has been signed in Yann Sommer, who should also have a significant impact on Manuel Neuer's sporting future with the record champions.
With all the many question marks, there is also one fact that should be clarified with the German national goalkeeper: the continued payment of his salary despite his self-inflicted failure.

Born: 03/27/1986 (36) in Gelsenkirchen |
At FC Bayern since July 2011 |
Contract until June 30, 2024 |

Manuel Neuer is said to be guaranteed a salary of around 6.5 million euros despite his injury
As reported by
Sport Bild
in its latest issue, Neuer should have a clause in his contract that ensures continued payment of wages for at least the next four months.
The annual salary of the 36-year-old is estimated at just over 20 million euros;
Accordingly, around 6.5 million euros would still be guaranteed despite the injury.
Actually, FC Bayern Munich would have been exempt from continued wage payments since last Friday (January 20), since six weeks have passed since the illness was reported.

Because the club had to transfer a total transfer fee of 9.5 million euros to Borussia Mönchengladbach for Yann Sommer and now also bears the salary costs of the Swiss (estimated: five million euros), there will be less budget available for further transfers in the summer.
Oliver Kahn comments on Neuer's possible waiver of salary
In order to relieve the situation, Manuel Neuer could forego salary or contribute to the costs.
While Uli Hoeneß got excited about it when asked about it in "Doppelpass" ("That won't happen at Bayern Munich!"), Sport Director Hasan Salihamidžić wants to "talk about everything" and CEO Oliver Kahn also said to
Sport Bild
: "We discuss such topics always with the player himself.”
In the talks with the club bosses, the situation surrounding the dismissed goalkeeper coach Toni Tapalovic, who was considered Neuer's closest confidante at FC Bayern, should again be an issue.
