The sports commentator Christian Scherpe from the streaming service DAZN died at the age of only 24.
This was announced by his home club on Instagram.
Munich – Christian Scherpe only started working as a commentator for DAZN in November 2022, commenting on his very first game for the streaming service on December 29 – Real Betis against Athletic Bilbao from the Spanish Primera División.
Now the 24-year-old has died.

Christian joined FC Adler at the age of four, progressed through all the youth teams and has been an important member of our senior teams in recent years.

Our thoughts are with the family and friends at this difficult time, to whom we extend our deepest sympathy.
Rest in peace,” is the sad message that the club surprisingly announced.

He prevailed over 500 competitors in the DAZN x Indeed commentator drafts.
"Finally I can officially announce it.
I'm really looking forward to the new task!" he wrote on November 16 on Twitter full of anticipation.
Even after his first DAZN assignment, he recently wrote enthusiastically on January 7th: "It's still a little surreal when I think about the fact that I was allowed to make my debut on the microphone for DAZN last week.
At this point, a big thank you again to everyone who has supported me since I started more than four years ago!”
