Maria Legelli "only" does a speed check - and that's what comes out of it

Maria Legelli used the winter running series in Munich for a “tempo check” with a view to a marathon.

Munich – For Maria Legelli, the competition was a “tempo check”, as the runner from Böbing said.

And it turned out satisfactorily.

In the second race of the Munich winter running series, the 31-year-old shone as the third-best woman among 136 finishers.

Legelli ran the 15 kilometers in 59:40 minutes.

The native of Füssen succeeded in the dress rehearsal for the Marrakech marathon, which she wants to contest next Sunday.

Maria Legelli takes third place in races in the Olympic Park

Only two top runners were better than Legelli, who competes for the “Laufarena Allgäu” club.

Thea Heim (TNT Eiblteam) from Sachsenkam won in 56:20 minutes, just ahead of the French U20 runner Caroline Dennilauler (56:29), who was wearing the MTV Munich jersey.

The 30-year-old Heim is one of the best women in Germany in the middle and long distances.

On the marathon route, she was seventh in the DLV list of best last year with a time of 2:33:20 hours.

"It was a great experience for me to stand on the podium with a professional runner," said Maria Legelli.

Her distance to fourth place overall, the two-time Olympian Anna Mishchenko (2008/2012) from the Ukraine, was 1:12 minutes.

Ulrike Greif is in third place in the series ranking

Ulrike Greif (49) from Penzberg also landed in the front field among women.

The clock stopped after 1:17:17 hours for the athlete from TSV Wolfratshausen, who has her strengths on ultra distances.

She finished 44th overall.

In the series ranking after two of three competitions, Greif is in third place among ten women in the W50 age group.

Between December and February, the Munich winter running series always takes place on the same circuit in the Olympic Park, one race each over 10, 15 and 20 kilometers.

After two competitions, Stefan Legelli from Böbingen is in the respectable 13th place in the M30 class.

Maria Legelli's brother completed the 15 kilometers in 1:08:37 hours, which gave him 19th place in his class among 41 finishers.

In the overall ranking of all 307 men, Stefan Legelli took 98th place.

Norbert Zech is in the top 20 in the M40

Norbert Zech from the district was also at the start of the second winter race.

The M40 athlete from SV Eberfing crossed the finish line after 1:07:42 hours in eighteenth place in his class.

Zech finished 86th among all men.

Jürgen Birner (1:17:18) from TSV Penzberg took 26th place in the M50 class.

The local newspapers in the Weilheim-Schongau district are represented on Instagram under “merkur_wm_sog”.

The fastest of the day was Josef Diensthuber (TSV Reischach), who won with 49:39 minutes.

That corresponds to a time of 3:18 minutes per kilometer and a speed of 18.13 km/h.

The circular course with start and finish at the Olympic Stadium includes a few meters in altitude.

M40 athlete Diensthuber is also ahead in the series standings.

With 1:22:58 hours he has a clear lead over the second, Steffen Burkert (1:28:01).

In the women's category, Caroline Dennilauler has the best chance of overall victory.

The 18-year-old (1:33:34) leads the tableau with a lead of almost seven minutes on the next-placed.

The final race is the carnival run on Saturday, February 4th.
