In recent days, OM have suffered several setbacks on the transfer window front with Leandro Trossard (who preferred to sign at Arsenal) and Terem Moffi (who prefers Nice).

While a signing seemed imminent, negotiations got complicated on Thursday with Ivan Ilic (Verona) who approached Torino.

But this Friday afternoon, Igor Tudor and his staff learned good news.

According to information from RMC Sport, an agreement has been reached between Angers and OM for the transfer of midfielder Azzedine Ounahi.

It would amount to 10 million euros for a 4 and a half year contract.

The 22-year-old Ounahi was one of the revelations at the World Cup in Qatar along with World Cup semi-finalists Morocco.

He had played all the matches, except the small final.

Ounahi (17 caps, 2 goals) arrived in Angers in 2021 from Strasbourg.

Like Sofiane Boufal the other Lion of the Atlas of the SCO, red lantern of L1, he had obtained an exit voucher.

Since his return from Qatar, he had only played 31 minutes in L1, on January 15 against Clermont (2-1 defeat)

Since this successful World Cup, the midfielder of Angers was one of the most followed targets in Europe during this January transfer window.

Several English clubs or Naples had thus positioned themselves.

But it was OM who won the bet.

His signature should turn off the Ilic track.

The Marseille club are now hoping to sign a striker.

While Bamba Dieng has signed for Lorient (for €8 million and €2 in bonuses), Mattéo Geundouzi could play his last game in Olympian colors this weekend.

The international is courted by West Ham and Aston Villa.
