Consequently, the two representatives of the LNR will submit their resignation from their mandate as member of the Management Committee of the FFR, one can read in the press release from the Bureau of the LNR.

Here is the press release in its entirety

During the meeting of the FFR Management Committee this morning, and in view of the result of the consultation of the clubs on the appointment of the Deputy President, the representatives of the LNR reiterated the position expressed on December 15 that the FFR organizes new general elections, in order to restore appeasement within French rugby.

Following the resignation of Bernard LAPORTE, the Management Committee of the FFR finally decided to appoint an interim president until the General Assembly in June, during which the election of a new president will be organised, the Committee Director elected to date remaining in office.

The Bureau of the LNR meeting today does not agree with this process which does not draw the consequences of the vote of the clubs which have refused to approve the proposed Deputy President, and which may lead to a situation of blocking of the institution if the President elected in June does not come from the group currently in the majority within the Steering Committee.

As recommended by the Minister of Sports during the meeting, the LNR considers that the way to wisdom is to organize general elections as soon as possible, which will allow the clubs to make their choice and the governance thus designated to move forward serenely towards the major deadlines that arise in French rugby.

In line with this position of the Bureau, the two representatives of the LNR will submit their resignation from their mandate as member of the Management Committee of the FFR.

Whatever happens, the LNR reaffirms its commitment to continue over the coming months to mobilize all energies for the success of French rugby, through the XV of France and the clubs.
