Bundesliga: FC Bayern against Eintracht Frankfurt with a third draw in a row

FC Bayern also played the third game this year 1-1. This means that the lead over second-placed Union Berlin has been reduced to just one point – and the pressure is increasing in Munich.

FC Bayern Munich still has to wait for their first win in 2023.

Even against Eintracht Frankfurt, the table leaders did not get more than 1: 1 (1: 0).

Josip Stanisic played in place of Benjamin Pavard for Bayern, while Thomas Müller, who recently benched twice, and Kingsley Coman started in midfield.

Leon Goretzka was absent with a thigh problem and Serge Gnabry was on the bench after his mixed performance against Cologne.

Frankfurt coach Oliver Glasner had Makoto Hasebe instead of Hrvoje Smolčić, as well as starting eleven debutant Aurélio Buta and captain Sebastian Rode instead of Christopher Lenz and Daichi Kamada from the start.

After the World Cup break, FC Bayern only managed to draw against Leipzig (1-1) and Cologne (1-1) and because the competition for Union Berlin, Leipzig and Freiburg increased, the Munich team was under pressure.

Frankfurt initially stood low and pressed well in the switching game.

The result was a lot of inattentiveness.

Matthijs de Ligt saw the yellow card after just eight minutes after losing the ball and tactically fouling Rode.

Leroy Sané had the best chance of the first 20 minutes after a precise pass from Joshua Kimmich, but the ball jumped five meters from the goal when he tried to accept it (10').

When Frankfurt wanted to take over the game, Bayern scored

From the 20th minute, Eintracht tried to gain more possession, but this challenged Bayern's offensive runs.

A final relay by Kimmich and Müller had no consequences (30th), a little later Müller served the strikingly strong Sané in the backcourt, who finished flat to 1-0 (34th).

With the result we went into the break and came out again without a change.

The game was very much characterized by the good staggering of both back teams, there were hardly any compelling chances on either side.

Eintracht coach Oliver Glasner reacted in the 64th minute and brought Rafael Borré and Kamada to the goal for more train and final strength.

And it was Kamada who, shortly afterwards, staged Kolo Mouani on the left.

He penetrated the penalty area, briefly deceived Dayot Upamecano and then completed the far corner to equalize 1-1 (69 ').

Up to this point, Bayern have done too little, only created a few chances and rarely played their transition game cleanly.

Julian Nagelsmann reacted by bringing Gnabry for Sané (71') and Mathys Tel (77'), but instead of more offensive power, Eintracht almost took the lead: Götze didn't dare to shoot directly from an acute angle, and several of his missed the follow-up shot Teammates (84th).

In a final attack by Eintracht, Bayern were lucky

that Sommer deflected the Borré shot from an acute angle to the corner.

Overall, that was not enough and the discussions about Bayern's form will continue.

At least until Sunday, when Munich travels to Wolfsburg (5:30 p.m.).

Eintracht Frankfurt welcomes Hertha BSC at home on Saturday (3.30 p.m.) without the recently released Fredi Bobic.
