Tedesco in Belgium as national coach under discussion

Domenico Tedesco is apparently one of the top candidates for the job as Belgium national team coach.

This is reported by »Het Laatste Nieuws«.

Accordingly, the four-person task force to find Roberto Martínez's successor is said to have taken a liking to the former RB Leipzig coach.

As the new technical director, everything boils down to 66-year-old Frank Vercauteren, who wants to combine his experience with 37-year-old coach Tedesco.

However, it is questionable whether Tedesco sees himself as a national coach.

His dream goal is still a top position in the Italian Serie A. In addition, he has always chosen his jobs carefully in the past and rejected many offers.

From the beginning of December 2021 to the beginning of September 2022 he was a coach in Leipzig.

He led the Bundesliga club to the Champions League, the semi-finals of the Europa League and victory in the DFB Cup.

Caicedo pushes Brighton exit via Twitter

Brighton and Hove Albion is probably one of the biggest surprises in the current Premier League season: the club from southern England is in sixth place in the table, in the current season the »Seagulls« have already been able to beat big clubs like Chelsea or the Liverpool win.

This arouses desires on the transfer market: midfield all-rounder Moisés Caicedo, for example, is being courted by numerous top English clubs, most recently it was said that Arsenal FC is said to have offered 60 million pounds (about 68.5 million euros) for the 21-year-old Ecuadorian.

According to English media reports, however, Brighton initially rejected this offer.

Now Caicedo got involved in the transfer poker himself - and, despite the current contract, wrote a post on the short message service Twitter that reads like a farewell message: "It was always my dream to become the most decorated player in the history of Ecuador," says Caicedo.

"I'm proud to be able to bring Brighton a record transfer fee which they can reinvest to help the club continue to thrive." The England transfer window closes at 11.59pm on 31 January.

Stuttgart lets talent Tibidi go

Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart and young player Alexis Tibidi go their separate ways.

The 19-year-old striker is moving to French first division club ES Troyes AC with immediate effect, having previously ended his loan to SCR Altach from Austria.

Tibidi signed a contract in Troyes until the summer of 2027. According to media reports, the Swabians will receive 2.6 million euros for the Frenchman.

Tibidi moved to Stuttgart from the youth division of FC Toulouse in the summer of 2021.

At the start of the season, he was loaned out to Altach, coach Miroslav Klose's club.

»Playing time is what matters most for Alexis and his sporting development at the moment.

We can't offer him that in our current sporting situation," said Stuttgart's sports director Fabian Wohlgemuth.

Wolfsburg gives up Brekalo

Half a year before the end of his contract, midfielder Josip Brekalo left Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg and joined AC Florenz.

The 24-year-old Croatian has signed a contract with the Italians until 2026.

The national player switched to Lower Saxony in 2016, but was never able to fight for a regular place.

He also played for VfB Stuttgart and FC Turin on loan.
