After an impressive tournament, the talented 24-year-old tennis player beat Yelena Rybakina 6:4, 3:6, 4:6 in a battle that lasted nearly 3 hours and won the first Grand Slam of her career

After a surprising and excellent tournament in which quite a few tennis players ranked at the top of the round were eliminated at an early stage, Arina Savalanka and Elena Rybakina met this morning (Saturday) in the final of the women's tournament of the Australian Open Championship, when at the end of a great thriller that lasted nearly 3 hours, Savalanka won the title.

Sabalenka, ranked 5th in Australia, reached the Australian Championship after winning the competition in Adelaide and during the current Grand Slam she knocked out, among others, Alice Martens, Donna Vekic, Belinda Bencic and in the semi-finals she knocked out the surprising Polish Magda Lint.

Also, Savalanka knew that in all three of her past meetings against Rybakina she had won.

The 22nd ranked Rivakina of course came with a lot of self-confidence after winning last summer's Wimbledon tournament and this after knocking out the 1st ranked in the competition and the favorite to win - Iga Shabiontek, as well as Jelena Ostapenko and Victoria Azarenka.

the progress of the game:

Game 1:

After two first games in which each kept her serves, Rivakina broke Sabalanka and went up 1:2.

The Kazakh continued to be in control and went up to 2:4.

Savalanka managed to get a break of her own and equalized at 4:4, but Rybakina again returned to her best ability on the way to 4:6 after 35 minutes.

Act 2:

The level of the game rose with longer games as Sabalanka realized she had her back against the wall and went up 1:4 with complete control of the situation.

Despite this, with a 2:5 advantage she missed two set points and a break, Rybakina made sounds of a comeback but in the end Savalanka won the set 3:6 in a time of 57 minutes.
