The Israel Police prepared in special preparation for the Tel Aviv derby held today (Saturday) at the Bloomfield Stadium, but even that did not prevent scary images before the game - when dozens of Maccabi Tel Aviv fans moved from gate 8 to gate 11 in a dangerous manner.
As I recall, Maccabi Tel Aviv fans were only assigned gates 10-11, and many bought a ticket for gate 8 - and wanted to sit with their yellow friends.

Even before the match between Maccabi and Hapoel Tel Aviv, there were long lines that stretched over dozens of meters, following very careful checks by the security guards at the entrance to the gates.
Also, the police announced that they had arrested a suspect whose car was seized with large quantities of flares, firecrackers and smoke grenades intended for use in the derby, as part of the preparation an proactive activity was carried out against violence and the use of pyrotechnics.

During the activity, a suspect was observed by police forces in possession of various pyrotechnic devices.
The suspect was arrested for questioning and a search of his vehicle yielded approximately 90 flares and 24 smoke grenades, including an IDF smoke grenade intended for use during the game. Tomorrow the suspect, a 24-year-old resident of Harish, will be brought before a judge at the request of the police to extend his detention.
