The police arrested a suspect yesterday, who was caught with large quantities of pyrotechnics before entering the Tel Aviv derby • Justice of the peace, Avital Amsalem, stated that the suspect poses an irreparable danger • The Hapoel fan, who was caught holding a knife in his underwear, was removed from the fields until the end of next season

The Tel Aviv derby yesterday (tonight) in Bloomfield, became a spectacular pyrotechnic show, when only the special nets they brought to the Hapoel and Maccabi fans were punctured by the many flares.

Maccabi fans were missing over 100 flares and smoke grenades, when they were caught in the possession of one of the fans before a game - his detention was extended by three days today.

In another case, a knife was caught in the underwear of a Hapoel fan, 20 years old from Bat Yam, and he was banned from all games until the end of the season.

It all started when the police noticed the suspect passing a flare to a fan.

The police detained the suspect and after searching his underwear, they found his car key and when they approached the car, they found a large number of IDF items - 90 flares, 22 smoke grenades and an IDF smoke grenade.

In addition, a telescope, a tear gas canister and more were seized from that fan.

Today the young man, 25 years old from Tel Aviv, was brought to an extension of detention at the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court, after he was arrested on suspicion of carrying weapons, ammunition or explosives, handling explosives without a permit, transporting explosives and possessing weapons, ammunition or explosives.

The representative of the police, Sergeant Major Moshe Poistro, stated in court that he had not seen such a concept for a long time. "The suspect gave an "innocent" version, but the strength of the evidence in the case cannot be denied.

Just to say that I don't know if the court saw it, but yesterday in the game in Jaffa a lot of flares were thrown.

There is a danger to public safety, it could catch fire."

On the other hand, the suspect's defense attorney, Adv. Ari Shamai, argued that although there is a reasonable suspicion that the offense was committed and the offense was committed, there is a huge disproportion, lack of proportionality and contempt for the supreme principle of the freedom of a suspect with no criminal record, when arrest is sought for such an offense. Smoke grenades have never harmed a person.

This is a working assumption of the police... They also threw a flare at me and the police have not yet investigated," said Attorney Shamai.

Judge Avital Amsalem, who extended the suspect's detention by three days, stated that there is a high level of reasonable suspicion against the suspect for committing the crimes attributed to him and there are several investigative actions that require the suspect's arrest, since they are vulnerable to disruption and in light of the circumstances of the crime, the suspect is viewed as a danger that cannot be mitigated by an alternative Arrest at this point.

In another case, during a check at the entrance to the field, a Hapoel fan was caught holding a knife in his underwear and this morning he was brought to the Magistrate's Court in Tel Aviv, where Chief Rabbi Poistro claimed that these were dangerous things and asked Judge Amsalem to keep the suspect away from the fields until the end of the next season, including reporting at halftime, and bail finances.

Judge Amsalem accepted the police request and banned the suspect from entering football and basketball events in which the Hapoel Tel Aviv team participates.

The judge also made it clear to him that he is prohibited from staying on the field and at a distance of about 100 m from it during a match.

He must also report to the police station in Bat Yam every half-time in which a game takes place in order to sign in front of the diary.

"Taking into account the fact that the suspect entered the game with a knife in his possession, and the tremendous potential of the danger arising from that, the suspension will be until the end of the current game season," Judge Amsalem wrote in her decision.
