Löwen: Why do hardly any fans come to Ismaning?

Munich – For years they broke one attendance record after the other – no Bundesliga second representation was able to mobilize as many spectators as TSV 1860 Munich II in Giesing.

But this season everything is different.

The Grünwalder Stadion is being renovated and the fans of the second team have not followed the club into exile in Ismaning.

The 1860 fan representative Axel "Löwenbomber" Dubelowski spoke to Fußball Vorort about the current fan situation of the young lions.

The amateurs have been breaking attendance records for the past few years, but this season is different.

Why is it that the viewers stay away?

The reason for this is a lethargy in the fan scene.

The way to the Ismaninger Stadium is just too far for the fans.

It's even further than the Allianz Arena.

Besides, it's only for one year.

The second team of the city rivals also had to look for a new venue.

Why is it that the Bayern-Reserve in Heimstetten is always full and there are no spectators in Ismaning?

FC Bayern's amateurs were relegated from the 3rd division to the Regionalliga Bayern last year.

This season is completely new territory for them.

We, on the other hand, have been playing in this league for a long time.

But to make a comparison between us and Bayern is exaggerated.

As the second Bundesliga team, it can't be satisfying to only play in front of a few hundred spectators.

How do you intend to solve this problem?

For the home game against Bamberg on November 17, a fan bus will drive from Giesing to the Ismaninger Stadium and back again after the game.

What are your hopes for this fan campaign?

We hope for a one-time effect.

If we get the bus full, we will do this action more often in the future.

We also want to reward our young team with more spectators for their good performance so far this season.

Information:

For the Little Lions' home game against FC Eintracht Bamberg on November 17, 2012, a fan bus is to drive from Giesing to the Ismaninger Stadium on Lindenstrasse and back again after the end of the game.

The lion's fan advisors and fan councils accompany the white-blue convoy.

Up to 150 trailers can board for a fare of 2 euros.

Departure is at 12:45 p.m. on Candidstrasse – behind the standing hall of the Sechzger Stadium.

The game will kick off at 2 p.m.

The bus should be back in Giesing around 4:30 p.m.

"We're happy to have as many passengers as possible and hope that our U21s, with the support of 150 additional lion fans, will land a home win in the Ismaninger exile," says Axel "Lion Bomber" Dubelowski for the fan return campaign.

If you would like to reserve your seat in advance: To register for the bus to Ismaning, just send an email to axel.dubelowski@tsv1860.de.
