To strengthen themselves at the end of the transfer window, Lyon have chosen two young players from foreign leagues.

Things are moving in Lyon, and not just a little.

While the loan of attacking midfielder Romain Faivre to Lorient was formalized on Saturday evening, the Lyon transfer window is far from over.

Laurent Blanc's team will sign in the players who come two reinforcements, with a rather similar profile: young foreign players with a certain potential.

Olympique Lyonnais first announced on Saturday evening that they had entered into negotiations with the Brazilian club Botafogo for the loan with option to buy left winger Jeffinho.

The 23-year-old player is expected in Lyon on Monday to undergo medical examinations, the club said in a statement.

The new owner of OL, the American businessman John Textor, is also the majority shareholder of Botafogo.

“This negotiation opens up a new international market for the Brazilian club.

It strengthens the partnership between Botafogo, Lyon and Resende (Pelé Academy, which was already part of the OL network), with a solid path for young Brazilian athletes who wish to play in Europe.

In 2022, Jeffinho has made 24 Brazilian Serie A appearances, scoring two goals and providing three assists.

Then it was Amir Sarr himself who announced his arrival in Lyon.

The young Swedish striker (21) from Heerenveen, the Netherlands, confirmed his departure in a post-match interview on Saturday evening.

"It's a dream transfer.

It's a big club with a rich history.

Lyon is one of the biggest clubs in France.

So I'm very happy with this transfer and I'm really looking forward to playing there.

Selected nine times with the hopes of his country, Amin Sarr has scored 9 times in 29 games since his arrival in the Netherlands in 2022.
