Novak Djokovic defeated Stephanos Tsitsipas today (Sunday) in three sets in the Australian Championship final, and won his 22nd career Grand Slam tournament.
The Serbian, who was expelled from the tournament a year ago because of the vaccine saga, was very emotional upon receiving the trophy and said: "I want to first of all thank Stefanos who moved me very much. You will definitely reach more finals. There is a lot of similarity between Serbia and Greece, two countries where tennis is not a popular sport. I want to tell the kids who play tennis, don't let anyone tell you that you're not capable. Everything is possible."

"It's been a tremendous journey for me and my family. I don't take anything for granted, I appreciate the love I get here. This title belongs to the people who support me as much as me. It was one of the hardest competitions I've had in my career, coming back after not playing last year I want to thank everyone who gave me a good feeling about my return here."

Stefanos Tsitsipas, the loser, mainly chose to congratulate the winner:
