The former soccer player sits in a reserved wing for pedophiles and told the inmates: "I left home at the age of 15. All my life I have overcome many difficulties. I will face everything that comes my way"

Former Barcelona footballer Dani Alves is adjusting to life in prison.

The Brazilian has been in custody for several weeks on suspicion of allegedly raping a 23-year-old girl in a night club.

Although the detention center where he is kept tried to prevent leaks about his condition and demanded that nothing be reported to the media, in Spain today (Monday) his conversation with local probation officers and prisoners was published.

"I will accept whatever comes," he says, "nothing scares me."

Alves' representatives are trying to challenge the conditions of his arrest and request that he be released on bail, with the Brazilian "prepared to guarantee that he will not leave Barcelona and remain in the city until the start of the trial", against the background of the fear that he will try to flee to his homeland.

He is willing to surrender his passport, wear an electronic bracelet, appear every day in court and do whatever is required, including depositing large sums of money as bail.

In the meantime, he is sitting in wing 13, next to prisoners accused of child abuse.

This morning, the newspaper "La Vanguardia" reported on things he said in internal conversations, which, according to the newspaper, were "confirmed by various sources".

Alves, who does not receive special conditions, said: "I will accept whatever comes my way. I left home at the age of 15. I have overcome difficulties and complicated situations all my life. This will be another obstacle I will have to overcome. Nothing scares me."

The former footballer continues to insist that the sexual relationship he had with the girl "was fully consensual", as he said.

He continues to share a cell with Coutinho, who used to be Ronaldinho's bodyguard.

At the same time, his lawyer claims that the contradictions in Alves' testimony about the events of that night were "because he was afraid of being exposed in public that he cheated on his wife."

As I recall, at first the Brazilian denied that he even knew the girl.

As mentioned, Alves does not get the best conditions because of being famous.

In an interview with a probation officer at the prison, he spoke calmly, without revealing much emotion: "Alves the footballer stays outside, the Dane who is here is just another prisoner."

At first he refused to eat, but now he is also at meals with everyone, and his presence is already accepted naturally.

It was also reported that last Thursday he even participated in a soccer game with other inmates, in front of inmates from the nearby Wing 14 - those accused of rape and sexual offenses against male and female adults (with whom Elves has no contact).

In the meantime, the soccer player's mother arrived in Barcelona, after she was already seen bitterly crying in the media in Brazil.

Meanwhile, Alves refuses to meet her, since he doesn't want her to see him behind bars.
