Philip comes, Burke goes

Werder Bremen surprisingly strengthened their squad shortly before the end of the transfer period this Tuesday.

Maximilian Philipp is loaned out from VfL Wolfsburg until the end of the season, as the Bremen team announced on Monday.

Wolfsburg had signed Philipp from Dinamo Moscow for around 7.5 million euros in the summer of 2021 after the attacking midfielder was initially loaned out by the Russians.

In the current season, Philipp only made three shorter appearances for Lower Saxony.

Werder coach Ole Werner had recently repeatedly pointed out the small squad.

The bosses around managing director Frank Baumann had always pointed out that new players were not possible for financial reasons.

Bremen, on the other hand, will leave Oliver Burke first.

The Scot has agreed with another club on a loan until the end of the season, the Bremen team said.

Like Philipp, Burke only has to undergo a medical examination.

The 25-year-old attacker has made 15 appearances so far this season, in which he has scored two goals.

But he couldn't get past the storm duo Niclas Füllkrug/Marvin Ducksch.

The transfer window closes this Tuesday.

+++ RUMOR +++

Tottenham are reportedly offering 25m for Hincapie

Leverkusen's Piero Hincapie is in demand in England, especially at Tottenham Hotspur.

As the »Bild« reports, the fifth in the Premier League is said to have made a verbal offer of 25 million euros for the 21-year-old central defender.

According to the British "Sun", Tottenham should not be willing to meet an alleged Bayer demand of 90 million euros.

According to "Kicker", however, Leverkusen's managing director rules out a change from Hincapie as well as from Jonathan Tah, who is being courted by Nottingham Forest.

"We won't give him up either," Simon Rolfes is quoted there as referring to Hincapie.

In England, too, the transfer window closes on January 31.

Hertha wants to get more players after Bobic-Aus

According to a report by "Bild", Hertha BSC wants to sign several new players before the end of the winter transfer period.

After the departure of sports director Fredi Bobic, those responsible around the new sports director Benjamin Weber want to lure up to four professionals to the penultimate table.

Among them is said to be Moroccan World Cup player Selim Amallah from Standard Liège.

In addition, Hertha are said to be interested in Gauthier Hein from AJ Auxerre from France's Ligue 1 and Denmark's Jannik Vestergaard from Premier League's Leicester City.

Previously, the interest of the Berliners in Maximilian Philipp from VfL Wolfsburg had also been mentioned.
