Philip comes, Burke goes
Werder Bremen surprisingly strengthened their squad shortly before the end of the transfer period this Tuesday.
Maximilian Philipp is loaned out from VfL Wolfsburg until the end of the season, as the Bremen team announced on Monday.
Wolfsburg had signed Philipp from Dinamo Moscow for around 7.5 million euros in the summer of 2021 after the attacking midfielder was initially loaned out by the Russians.
In the current season, Philipp only made three shorter appearances for Lower Saxony.
Werder coach Ole Werner had recently repeatedly pointed out the small squad.
The bosses around managing director Frank Baumann had always pointed out that new players were not possible for financial reasons.
Bremen, on the other hand, will leave Oliver Burke first.
The Scot has agreed with another club on a loan until the end of the season, the Bremen team said.
Like Philipp, Burke only has to undergo a medical examination.
The 25-year-old attacker has made 15 appearances so far this season, in which he has scored two goals.
But he couldn't get past the storm duo Niclas Füllkrug/Marvin Ducksch.
The transfer window closes this Tuesday.
