The Olympic champion in road cycling, the Austrian Anna Kisenhofer, signed today (Tuesday) with the Israeli cycling team Premier Tech.
Kisenhofer, 31 years old, was one of the biggest surprises at the Tokyo Olympics, when she broke through and beat the favorites to get on the podium and receive the gold medal. After winning, she put her career as a mathematician on hold to concentrate on cycling.
Her signing brings the number of members on the roster of the Israeli Premier Tech women's team to 13, although it is still the smallest WorldTeam.
"I am very happy to join Premier Tech," said Kienhofer.
“This is the ideal environment and equipment for me to perform at my best in some of the most important races on the Women's World Tour calendar.
"In particular, I want to focus on the Tour de France. I'm excited about this new challenge. It won't be easy, but I think we have an excellent team and will provide surprises this year."
