For 121 million euros: Chelsea brings world champion Fernández

Chelsea ended their shopping spree with a record transfer.

The Blues World Champion signed Enzo Fernández from Benfica Lisbon for 121 million euros.

This was announced by the Portuguese club.

The Argentine midfielder replaced Manchester City's Jack Grealish as the most expensive Premier League signing.

The winger went from Aston Villa to the Skyblues in 2021 for 117.50 million euros.

Fernández, who has a contract in London until 2031, only moved from River Plate to Lisbon last summer, where he developed excellently under German coach Roger Schmidt.

For Chelsea, meanwhile, it was the eighth new signing of the winter.

In this transfer window alone, the club spent more than 300 million euros.

In the entire 2022/2023 season, the current table tenth will spend more than 600 million euros.

FC Bayern brings João Cancelo and lends Sabitzer

FC Bayern Munich has loaned midfielder Marcel Sabitzer to English record champions Manchester United.

The Munich announced.

Accordingly, the Austrian national player joined the Red Devils until the end of the season, the contract of the 28-year-old in Munich runs until 2025.

Sabitzer came to the series champion in the summer of 2021 together with trainer Julian Nagelsmann, but was never really able to assert himself.

"Marcel explained to us that he wants more playing time and is convinced he can get it at United," said sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić.

United's signing of Sabitzer is a short-term response to the month-long absence of Danish international Christian Eriksen, who sustained an ankle injury.

The Munich team caused a stir on the last day of the transfer period with the loan of Portuguese World Cup star João Cancelo from Manchester City.

Cancelo has scored seven goals in 41 caps for Portugal.

For City, where he has a contract until 2027, he has made 154 competitive appearances (nine goals, 22 assists) since moving from Juventus to the island in 2019 for €65m.

Before his time at Juventus, the World Cup participant was active for FC Valencia, Inter Milan and Benfica Lisbon.

Bayern are loaning the Portuguese out until the end of the season and have secured a purchase option that is said to be around 70 million euros.

Jorginho from the Blues to Arsenal

Italian European champion Jorginho is moving from Chelsea to Arsenal in the Premier League.

Both clubs announced the transfer of the 31-year-old midfielder.

According to information from the BBC, Jorginho signed a contract for 18 months and was worth almost 14 million euros to the leaders.

In his four and a half years at Chelsea, Brazilian-born Jorginho won the Champions and Europa League, among others.

Dortmund's Hazard is loaned out to Eindhoven

Borussia Dortmund has loaned the Belgian national player Thorgan Hazard, who has only been used sporadically.

As announced by BVB, the 29-year-old winger is moving to PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands for a limited period until the summer.

Hazard still has a contract with the black and yellow until 2024.

The player approached the club "with the desire to be loaned to a club where he regularly plays," said BVB sports director Sebastian Kehl.

Hazard, who has only played the full distance once this season, explained: "This loan is the best solution for everyone at the moment.

Over the next five months, I can gain match practice at a high level with a club that is very ambitious.”

Hazard came to BVB from Borussia Mönchengladbach in the summer of 2019 and made 122 appearances in all competitions for Westphalia (18 goals).

In 2021 he won the DFB Cup with Dortmund.
