The Italian "will return after a period of convalescence" added the Spurs without specifying a return period.

Without his transalpine coach, Tottenham will have to revive after a complicated post-World Cup recovery.

In the league, Hugo Lloris' teammates have won only twice in five games.

They lost to Arsenal and Aston Villa 2-0.

Conte had even summoned his players and staff for a meeting.

History to put things flat and generate the electric shock.

Spurs are currently fifth in the Premier League, just three points off the podium but one game clear of third-placed Newcastle.

Without its Italian coach, Tottenham will receive Manchester City (2nd), Sunday, for the 22nd day.

In two weeks, Spurs must also face AC Milan in the knockout stages of the Champions League.
